About TigerStadiumDetroit.com

TigerStadiumDetroit.com was founded in August 2007. As a baseball fan and preservationist I was shocked and saddened by the decision to demolish Tiger Stadium. This grand old ballpark represents some of the finest chapters in American baseball history. It is the home of numerous individual and team historic events that shaped baseball as we know it today.

For me, watching the 1968 World Series was my first virtual visit to Tiger Stadium. The Tiger team that derailed and crushed the unstoppable St. Louis Cardinals team captured my imagination. I'll never forget Mickey, Bill, Kaline, Gates, Willie and even old Eddie Matthews. Somehow, they did the impossible!

Oh, yes those annual Thanksgiving Day games beamed into our home showed us another way Tiger Stadium could roar. Four NFL championships later the folks over at Ford Field can only dream of achieving this record championship record of Tiger Stadium.

This site is designed to keep Tiger Stadium alive even though the politicians and tycoons abandoned it. I hope you will join me in celebrating the history and beauty of this great American treasure located forever at The Corner – Michigan and Trumbull.
